Kayla Lewis is a seasoned child therapist specializing in early childhood emotional development, parent-child attachment, and trauma-informed care. She is the founder of Little Seeds Counseling and is dedicated to supporting young children (ages 3–10) and their families through transitions, behavioral challenges, and emotional distress. Her integrative, play-based approach empowers children and caregivers to build connection, resilience, and emotional safety. Kayla brings a compassionate and attuned presence that creates a space where children feel safe, seen, and empowered to grow. Through her work, she supports caregivers in understanding their child’s needs and strengthening the emotional bonds that foster lifelong resilience.
Throughout her career, Kayla has worked in a variety of roles that have deepened her expertise in child behavior, family dynamics, and early childhood mental health. She spent many years as a school-based therapist in an alternative education setting offering therapeutic support for children ages 4 to 15 who faced adverse childhood experiences and challenging family systems. She partnered with educators to create individualized approaches for children in the classroom, ensuring that academic teams could better understand and support children through a trauma-informed lens. Expanding her focus, Kayla also served as an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, working directly with caregivers, early childhood educators, and expectant mothers. She helped integrate strong mental health programming into early education centers, ensuring that children from birth to age five had a foundation of emotional well-being. Most recently, Kayla served as an intensive in-home therapist, providing hands-on clinical support to children and families overcoming adverse experiences and with high-risk, complex needs.
