kayla lewis, lpc

Hi! I'm so glad you're here! I always say that raising tiny humans is equivalent to an Olympic sport and we're holding the Gold medals!

My name is Kayla Lewis and I founded Little Seeds Counseling, LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and seasoned child therapist specializing in early childhood emotional development, parent-child attachment, trauma-informed care, and teaching attunement and collaborative problem solving. I am dedicated to supporting young children (ages 3–10) and their families through transitions, behavioral challenges, and emotional distress. My integrative, play-based approach empowers children and caregivers to build connection, resilience, and emotional safety. I am rooted in bringing a compassionate and attuned presence that creates a space where you and your child feel safe, seen, and empowered to grow. Through my work, I support caregivers in understanding their child’s needs and strengthening the emotional bonds that foster lifelong resilience.

Throughout my 15 year career, I have  worked in a variety of roles that have deepened my expertise in child behavior, family dynamics, and early childhood mental health. I started out teaching Pre-School (3's and 4's) and integrating social-emotional tools into the classroom, supporting behaviors within the classroom setting and really taking the time to recognize how children's success in the classroom is promoted best when the grown ups can look at them from an individualized and child-focused lens, rather than just a student in the classroom. I then spent many years as a school-based therapist in an alternative education setting offering therapy services  for children ages 4 to 13 who faced adverse childhood experiences and challenging family systems. I partnered with educators to create individualized approaches for children in the classroom, ensuring that academic teams could better understand and support children through a trauma-informed lens. Expanding my focus, I provided Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation where I  working directly with caregivers, early childhood educators, and expectant mothers in the integration of strong mental health programming within early education centers, ensuring that children from birth to age five had a foundation of emotional well-being. I've worked as an intensive in-home therapist providing  'all hands-on deck' clinical support to children and families overcoming adverse experiences and with high-risk, complex needs.

I so much look forward to working with you and your family.
